New York's Finest take on the Fighting Irish

For the first time ever, the boxers of the NYPD will visit Dublin for a fight night with their brethren in An Garda Síochána.

The Garda V NYPD boxing show  will be staged in the Wright Venue in Swords on Saturday, 6 October and will feature ten highly competitive bouts.

The Garda team have travelled to New York a few times over the past decade, boxing in such venues as The New York Athletic Club on Central Park South, the Sheraton Hotel in Times Square and the 69th Armoury on Lexington Avenue.

During the event, there will be an auction for charity with gloves signed by European, World and Olympic Champion Katie Taylor, World Middleweight Challenger Matthew Macklin and a Fantastic Kronx Gym Glove signed by Hall of Fame trainer, Emanuel Steward, Heavyweight Champion Wladimir Klitschko and Middleweight Challenger Andy Lee.

All proceeds of the auction will go towards the Kops4kidz fund, for St. John’s Ward in Crumlin Children’s Hospital.
