An Irish Soldier's View From The Sky
A beautiful set of images was recently uploaded by the Irish Defence Forces and features a view from the air during the military journey from Casement Aerodrome, Baldonnel, to Beirut International Airport, Lebanon, in a CASA CN235.
The photographs, courtesy of Cpl Paul Bookle, were captured between the 8th and 10th of May. Have a look:
What a view! This image is described as, “Sunset over Tunisia on the return leg from Beirut.”
This image was taken while flying over the hills of Crete.
The ‘Irish 253’ caught this picture while passing over the French Alps.
Finally, this image was taken as Sgt Anthony Conlon completed an inspection of the ‘Irish 253’ before departing for home.
You can take a look at a heart warming video of one Irish soldiers welcomed return from the Lebanon in our story here.
