Irish Lacrosse Teams Performing Well At European Championships
Alan Ryan reports on the progress of the Irish lacrosse teams at the European Championships.
Furthering on from a previous story about the Irish lacrosse teams, we’ve tracked their progress and can report that both teams have been doing extremely well in the European championships in Amsterdam.
After making it through the tough group stage and defeating Germany 15-12 in the quarter finals, the men’s team move into the semi-finals and have a meeting with Sweden on Friday.
Below, the Irish men defeat Finland in quadruple overtime.
The women’s team have been doing exceptionally well also scoring loads of goals in three of their games and being held to a deadlock with the Netherlands. After beating the Swiss team yesterday by 20-5 they progress to meet Wales in the quarter finals today.
It hasn’t been easy for either of the teams with a game each day to play. It has been tough mentally and physically but all the sacrifices and training camps have certainly paid off.
Irish player Conor Walsh is certainly looking forward to the big occasion:
Let’s get behind the teams and show some support for the boys and girls in green in Amsterdam!
You can follow the teams and their progress on Facebook, Twitter, and on the Lacrosse Foundation website.
