Michael Collins, Irish revolutionary leader, former minister for finance and TD for Cork south in the first Dáil of 1919 has been given a new lease of life by two students who are currently on a J1 visa in the United States.

Michael Collins’ adventures, a page on Facebook, is currently documenting the journey of the former commander in chief as he samples what life is like on the other side of the Atlantic.

Here Michael is seen leaving the Kilmurry lodge night club on the outskirts of Limerick city after a night out with people who wished him well with his travels.

After landing in New Jersey he had the pleasure of travelling in a yellow cab and also got to sample some of the local attractions.

With 4th July festivities in full swing this week, Michael joined in and was seen leaving this pub in the small hours of the morning.

After a bit of hassle with security he managed to get into the Citi stadium and watch his first baseball game.

Much to Michael’s delight it was well worth the hassle.

There wasn’t a taxi in sight so he had to get his friend Mike Colman to bring him home.

You can follow Michael’s j1 journey on Facebook and on Twitter.
