Video: Surfing the nine-metre winter waves in Ireland
Posted at 09:16 Fri 26th Oct 2012 IST
Ireland has some amazing surf. In certain parts of the country – in Cork, and on the west coast – surfboard ownership is pretty high. And with good reason: we get some amazing waves.
This short documentary uploaded to Vimeo follows UK surfer Andrew Cotton as he spends some time battling the big waves in the depths of winter last year. It's shot in both Ireland and Portugal, but the gargantuan 9 metre (30 feet) wave at the end is in Ireland. And boy, is it impressive!
