Would You Eat Olive Oil, Balsamic Vinegar and Parmesan Ice Cream?

Following on from our recent post on strange food from Ireland we thought we would bring you some more.
In an effort to raise funds for the people affected by the recent 5.1 magnitude earthquake in Modena in northern Italy, Cork Chef Seamus O’Connell and Fabio Cavallini, who lives and works in Cork but is from Modena, have decided to make and ice cream with a particularly Italian flavour.
The ice cream they plan to make is flavoured with olive oil, parmesan and balsamic vinegar. After making it they plan to sell it at Grand Parade in the English Market on Saturday, 14 July between 12pm and 4pm.
This flavoured ice cream is just one part of the efforts being made to raise funds for the community affected by the earthquake in Modena with Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese also being sold in most Italian outlets in Cork on the day.
