You can win tickets to see David McWilliams, Fintan O'Toole, Nick Webb and Shane Ross debate the state of the nation with Olivia O'Leary in the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, Dublin on Tuesday 27 November at 7.30pm.

All it takes is a comment below.

As they've told Dave in their WorldIrish interview, at least three of the four men aren't angry - but they're certainly in the mood to debate the state of Ireland at the moment.

From the current crisis to lifting the lid on who is really responsible to the debate on where we should go from here, the four men, with host Olivia O'Leary should present an interesting and exciting debate.

You can watch our interview with David McWilliams, Fintan O'Toole and Nick Webb here.

 About the participants …

David McWilliams is Ireland's leading popular economist, and is a columnist for the Irish Independent and the Sunday Business Post. He is the author of the bestsellers The Pope's Children, The Generation Game, and Follow the Money

His new book The Good Room explains the bizarre economics behind Ireland's current predicament, and illuminates a radically different path for the country. He illustrates the consequences of debt and austerity on ordinary Irish people. He explains why austerity can't work, and shows that history offers numerous useful models for Irish recovery - provided we open our eyes to them.

Fintan O'Toole has been a columnist and critic with The Irish Times since 1988 and is one of Ireland’s most outspoken commentators.

His previous  books, Ship of Fools and Enough is Enough were bestsellers. Up the Republic! is edited by O’Toole.  Most Irish people agree on two things – that they’re supposed to live in a republic and that they don’t. As the Irish Republic approaches the centenary of its declaration in 1916, it has never seemed quite so far away.

Has Ireland ever been a republic? Do Irish people really know what a republic is? In this book, some of Ireland’s leading scholars, writers and journalists suggest provocative answers to these urgent questions.

Shane Ross is an independent TD for Dublin South, and columnist in the Sunday Independent.  He wrote The Bankers, a number 1 bestselling title, in 2009

Nick Webb is Business Editor of the Sunday Independent. Together, they are the authors of Wasters, 2010's top-selling Irish current affairs title.

Their new book, The Untouchables, shines a light into dark corners of official Ireland to show that the blame for running the country into the ground goes well beyond Fianna Fáil, and that a dismaying number of the people who should share the blame are still in situ.
