Captain America, the shining light of Marvel's super-hero lineup, couldn't be more mom-and-pop pro-USA: even his outfit is all red, white, and blue. But thanks to an Irishman in New York, we just might see him don a little green, white and orange!

Bleedingcool.com, a comic book, movies and tv website, picked up on a letter to the creators of Captain America, published in the letters page of a recent issue, from Eóin Cunningham from Galway, who points out that Cap would be eligible for dual citizenship.

'I never put 2 and 2 together with Steve's [Captain America's real name] situation,' the editor replied. 'We'll have to see if there isn't a place to explore this at some point.'

Now, a throwaway comment on the letters page might not be much to get excited about, but BleedingCool attributed the reply to series writer Rick Remender, so you never know...

But what would his costume look like?
