McDonald's Shamrock Shake Gets First US National Rollout

McDonald’s is for the first time going to sell its famous green-coloured milkshake across the United States. It’s been around since 1970, but the decision to sell it around St. Patrick’s Day has, until now, been left to local managers. The shakes, sold in Ireland during March, are also available in some Canadian restaurants.

A hashtag on Twitter is being used to get people talking about the minty drink.

Over the years there have been some interesting ads in the US promoting the shake. This one dates back to 1983. We’re not sure if the narrator is a pirate or an Irishman!
