WorldIrish member, Olly Griffin from Tipperary, has been busy travelling throughout the country capturing images of his favourite beauty spots. Take a look at some images recently captured by Olly in what he describes as a ‘Photographic Journey through Munster.’
Olly wrote this about his time in Waterford – “It has some beautiful rugged coastline, but I think that this bridge is a real gem.”
Olly describes this image from Lough Gur in Limerick as a “spiritual place and Irelands largest stone circle.”
Olly wrote this caption for the image below, “Kerry – We call it the Kingdom, and for good reason, picture postcards everywhere.”
This picture was captured in Obriensbridge in Co Clare. Olly said it was the perfect spot if a quiet walk on the banks of the Shannon takes your fancy.
The moment was captured during the Munster v Edinburgh rugby match in Thomond Park on the 26th of November 2011.
A stunning view of the bay in Baltimore in West Cork…
Finally, this image was captured in Tipperary. Olly concluded his Tour with the iconic Rock of Cashel.
Olly is a self-employed Sport and Physical Therapist by trade often combines his love of sport with his passion for photography. He shares his work on Twitter here and online here.
‘My motivation’, Olly tells us, ‘is to capture the beauty of Ireland as best I can. When I first heard the concept album Ritual by Jape there was one line that stuck in my mind where he says “write it down because you won’t be coming back”. I’m not much of a writer, but instead I document what I see using a camera rather than a pen’.
To date he has been published in The Irish Independent and The Sunday Times, taking second prize in the latter’s recent Travel Photography Competition.
