Imagine if everyone, living or dead, real or fictitious, had a Twitter account? #IfTheyTweeted brings these people to life in the Twittersphere, giving us some of the best modern interpretations of well-known people in 140 characters or less. The Irish got in on the #IfTheyTweeted action with some funny takes on their favorite characters.

President Lincoln seemed to be a popular character to poke fun at, with several references to his unfortunate end.
