Fermanagh Balloon Lands on the Moon

This perfectly-timed shot of a hot-air balloon 'landing' on the moon at dusk comes from Fermanagh local Terry McCartney.
He spotted the balloon while in his car with two small children, and decided it would make an excellent shot – so he followed it until he had the chance to photograph it.
'We chased it like a hurricane,' McCartney said. 'It's not as dangerous as a hurricane, but we caught it in the end!'
He eventually caught the balloon between the towns of Lisbellaw and Tempo, Co Fermanagh – and timed his shot perfectly to capture the moment.
McCartney also said the balloon was occupied by a man named Craig Kingston, who used the trip to propose to his girlfriend Sarah Long – and she said yes.
McCartney is the owner of the Belmore Court and Motel, and an amateur photographer in his spare time. This shot was taken on a Canon 40D camera with a 70–200mm zoom lens, and has been featured on the Facebook pages of Discover Northern Ireland and Certificate of Irish Heritage.
