'You're just the sort they write about': James Joyce sends a Valentine's Day card to his 'pal' in 1933

Even literary greats like James Joyce got caught up in the romance of 14 February. It's unclear who the Ulysses writer was sending this Valentine's Day card to in 1933 but they were, according to the card, 'just the sort of pal' for him. We love the Dutch landscape, complete with tulips and a windmill.
His unmistakable signature can be seen in the bottom right hand corner, under the words
You're just the sort of pal for me ~~
You're just the sort I'd like to be
To you....
You're just the sort they write about;
I wonder what I'd do without
Just you....
Ah bless. He was an old softie at heart. Many thanks to the National Library of Ireland for allowing us to share it with you on this special day.
