This stunning black and white image was snapped by David Bergin Photography in Haroldstown, Co Carlow during the week. It shows the ancient portal dolmen, which is well-known throughout the area. David describes his photograph below:
Haroldstown Dolmen. Located on the R727 which connects Hacketstown with Tullow. A portal dolmen which has been well-preserved through the centuries. In the 19th century, it housed a family thanks to its large interior, measuring 120 square feet. There are two capstones and ten upright stones and is regarded by many as the best and most attractive example of a portal dolmen in Ireland.
