Three Irish men have managed to beat off about 600,000 entrants and made it one step closer to securing their dream of the ‘best job in the world’ in Australia.
Richard Cullen, Allan Dixon and Heber Hanly are among those narrowed down to a list of 150 hopefuls who've made the next step of the Tourism Australia competition.
The applicants were asked to submit a short 30-second video outlining why they believed they should win their dream job. Richard and Heber applied for the position of 'Lifestyle Photographer' and Allan went for 'Outback Adventurer.'
Below, Allan's entry:
'I didn't want to do the whole "Hi, I'm Allan Dixon and I... etc" all that stuff has been done. Instead I focused on a compelling story to win hearts to spike some interest into getting to know the person behind the story' said Allan.
Heber Hanley's (pictured above) video entry can be watched here and Richard Cullen's (pictured below) can be viewed online here.
The six dream jobs on offer are: Chief Funster in New South Wales, Park Ranger in Queensland, Taste Master in Western Australia, Outback Adventurer in Northern Territory, Lifestyle Photographer in Melbourne, Victoria and Wildlife Caretaker in South Australia.
The contestants' next step in the competition is to prove to the judges how much support they can gather in their communities.
