In the wake of the Boston Marathon bombing on 15 April, memorial tributes have been building up in Copley Square in the city. This photo, taken on Sunday morning, shows one of the tributes left by the Irish with a very simple message.

'The Irish Love Boston. We are a strong city and will make it through,' reads one of the hundreds of mementoes - a Leprechaun stuffed toy.

The Irish make up the biggest single ethnic group in Boston - more than 15% - and many more of the mementoes show gaelic-style script or shamrocks.

The photo comes from photographer Lorianne DiSabato, who also wrote a photography-filled blog about visiting the makeshift memorial and watching people add their tokens.
