Nancy O'Mallon grew up on an 80-acre family farm in Western Pennsylvania. She wrote produced and directed two documentaries, The Mighty Humble Blueberry and New Jersey's Red October. Her documentaries won awards nationally, internationally and aired on local Public Broadcasting Stations. Award-winning filmmaker, writer and dynamic speaker, she has discovered, documented and cataloged hundreds of hours of film footage, archival materials and first hand accounts related to food and agriculture. Ms. O’Mallon works as producer on additional diverse film and projects and volunteers for business, community and historical organizations, including two New Jersey film commissions. In 2009, after completing her documentaries and determined to continue to educate people about food and agriculture through media, O’Mallon formed the media company, About Harvest, LLC. Since 2010 she has lead the "Food Science and Technology Group" at The Global Leaders, a business social networking community. The mission of The Global Leaders is to connect senior leaders and facilitate business development. The Food Science and Technology group builds conversations between scientists and the business, philanthropic, and educational communities in the "global virtual room" made available by TGL with a purpose of advancing new projects. Serving as the 2012 media affiliate for the US organization, Latinos in Agriculture, O’Mallon functioned as the master of ceremonies at their 2012 Latinos in Agriculture Leaders Forum in San Antonio, Texas in October. January 2013 O'Mallon founded a start-up company, Earth Twine, whose mission is to strengthen global food security through innovation, education and collaboration.
